About Our Council

Archbishop MacDonald Council was founded May 17, 1968. The first Grand Knight was Leonard Souliere Sr.

The Council was named after Most Reverend John Hugh MacDonald, Ordinary for the Archdiocese of Edmonton and Metropolitan for the Province of Alberta during the years 1938 to 1964. An outstanding Catholic churchman, he died January 26, 1965.

Council 6083 works closely with Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Sherwood Park, Elk Island Catholic Schools, the community of Sherwood Park, and the County of Strathcona, providing funds and manpower for a variety of projects.
